As June settles in, summer weather is ideal for motorcycle touring and exploring the state's vibrant event scene. This month offers a diverse lineup of events, from unique cultural celebrations and exhilarating extreme sports to classic vehicle showcases. Many of the events listed below take place in Salt Lake City, but you'll find arts festivals and farmers markets all across the state this summer.
Whether you're planning a long ride or looking for a fun stop off the bike, June presents plenty of compelling reasons to get out and experience Utah.

Events
Utah Free Fishing Day
June 7, Statewide
This is a perfect chance to cast a line into Utah's beautiful lakes and rivers, whether you're an experienced angler or have always wanted to give it a try. No fishing permit is required on any Utah body of water, but standard fishing regulations, including catch limits, still apply.
Highland Games and Scottish Festival
June 13-15
Check out the largest Scottish Festival in the state. These Games are a regular stop for some of the top Professional Highland Games Athletes in the world. Enjoy the Strongman Competition Friday evening, and the National Sheaf Toss Championship and Highland Games on Saturday. Other entertainment includes bagpiping, pole tossing, and live music.
Red Bull Soapbox Race
June 14, Salt Lake City
For the first time, the Red Bull Soapbox Race is coming to Utah! Watch as teams race their homegrown, non-motorized soapbox cars down the long and hilly State Street. Best of all, admission is free! To avoid event traffic, we suggest arriving from the south and parking at City Creek Center's underground parking. It is a short walk to the event.
British Field Day
June 21, Salt Lake City
An enjoyable event for vintage British car and motorcycle afficionados. Held at Liberty Park, check out a collection of original and restored English cars, trucks, and motorcycles. In years past, they've even held a small autocross event. A $10 per person donation is requested for admission.
X Games
June 27-29, Salt Lake City
June must be extreme sports month, because the X Games are also coming into town. In addition to skateboarding, BMX, and music, you'll also be able to catch some Moto X competitions.
National Park Information
With summer just around the corner, please note that there may be delays entering gated parks, increased crowds, or reduced services due to staffing shortages. We suggest making campsite reservations early with the Recreation.gov website or mobile app. And as usual, please be kind to park workers.
