With our wide range of elevations and temperature swings, your stove is only as good as the fuel feeding it. We carry Olicamp’s premium blend camp fuels because they are specifically engineered to handle camping in the Intermountain West.

Olicamp uses a precision 25/25/50 blend (Propane, Iso-Butane, and N-Butane) that ensures a consistent, high-pressure flame whether you’re making coffee in the frosty Uintas or cooking dinner in the heat of Moab. All canisters feature a standard Lindal screw valve compatible with a wide range of stove hookups.

Firsthand Advice

As you climb in altitude, atmospheric pressure drops which helps the gas escape the canister more easily. However, the cold that usually comes with higher altitudes does the opposite. I noticed my Olicamp fuel sputtering at 35F degrees (2C) at 10,000 feet (3,000 m) while using a canister-top stove. Warming the canister with my hands improved the flow of gas to the stove.

If it’s a brisk morning, tuck your fuel canister inside your sleeping bag or down jacket for 10 minutes before use. Warming the liquid fuel slightly will give you a much stronger, more efficient flame for that first cup of coffee.

If you regularly camp in <35F degree (<2C) weather, consider purchasing a remote canister stove that allows you to flip the fuel canister, and includes a pre-heat tube and/or a pressure regulator.

Pick Your Size

  • Small (100g): Nests inside most small camp pots. Perfect for shorter solo trips.

  • Medium (230g): The "Goldilocks" size. Great mix of capacity, stability, and packability. Will nest in larger cookware pots.

  • Large (450g): Best for long rides with a pillion.
