The Taurus 2 is a simple 2-pole freestanding dome tent that is enhanced with 2 doors and 2 vestibules (one over each door) with extra large #8 zippers to make entering and exiting the tent hassle free. The two doors each have a mesh window, which is great for ventilation. When it's time to put on the fly, you won't have to worry about losing your fresh air. The fly has additional vents for continued ventilation. ALPS tents each come with a factory sealed fly and floor seams to give you the best weather protection and keep you dry.
 
What are you sacrificing at this lower price point compared to our other tents like the ALPS Felis 2 or Helix 2? Primarily weight & packability. This is 1-2 pounds heavier than the other ALPS tents due to its fiberglass poles and thicker polyester fly construction. The good news is that you're not carrying this in a backpack, so the extra weight and size won't affect you as much as it would a hiker. The thicker fly and floor material can also be more durable in the long run, too.
 
Why We Like It
We love affordable, well-built tents like this! Sometimes you just need a reliable tent for your semiannual campout without breaking the bank. Even at this low price point, you're still getting double doors, a full length rainfly, vestibules for your boots, and pole clips instead of pole sleeves. 
 
Best of all, the money you save on camping gear can be reallocated to something more responsible... like farkles for your motorcycle.
