The Blaze 0 is a rugged, budget-friendly winter bag designed for riders who prioritize damp-weather reliability and durability over absolute packability. Built to handle harsh cold, it offers dependable freezing-weather protection for basecamp setups, car camping, or short-haul motocamping adventures where extra pack volume isn't a dealbreaker.
Wrapped in a heavy-duty polyester ripstop shell, this bag is engineered to take a beating on rugged campouts without snagging or wearing down. Features like an insulated draft tube along the main zipper and an adjustable contoured hood ensure cold air stays locked out. At 5 lbs 5 oz, it carries extra weight, but it provides serious cold-weather warmth at a fraction of the cost of technical down options.
Why We Like It
While down is king for tight packing, synthetic insulation is a great option for affordability and moisture avoidance. The Blaze 0 uses TechLoft Silver synthetic insulation in a two-layer offset construction, eliminating cold spots and continuing to trap body heat even if exposed to damp conditions.
Note:
Synthetic insulation is inherently durable, but storing it crushed inside a tight stuff sack for long periods will still degrade its loft over time. After returning home, shake the bag out and store it hanging or loosely stowed to keep the TechLoft fibers springy and full for your next trip.
