The Gannet 3P is the right setup for two-up motorcycle travelers. It offers a massive footprint that turns your campsite into a comfortable home base, whether you are sharing the space or just want the roomiest solo setup available.

Why We Like It

The Gannet 3P provides nearly 49 square feet (13.8 sq. m) of floor space, making it ideal for couples or riders traveling with a dog. The design utilizes vertical side walls and a 51-inch peak height, allowing most people to sit up comfortably without their heads brushing the mesh.

Like the rest of the Gannett series, this tent is built for longevity. It features robust 68D polyester and 8.5mm aluminum poles that can withstand the high winds and abrasive soils common in the backcountry. Two large doors and dual vestibules ensure that even with three people, you aren't tripping over each other to get outside. A footprint is included!

Notes

A rule of thumb when choosing a tent (when extreme weight saving is not an requirement) is to add one to the amount of sleepers. For one rider, get a 2P. And for two riders sleeping together, get a 3P. Trying to squeeze two adults plus riding gear into a 2P tent is a recipe for a miserable night.

The 78-inch width of the 3P allows for two wide sleeping pads with enough room left over to stack your helmets and riding suits at the foot or side of the tent. You can also stash items outside the tent under the vestibules.

The two-pole clip design is fast and intuitive, which is exactly what you want when you're tired after a long day in the saddle. For those hot Utah summer trips, the "Fast Flight Mode" is a great option. By using just the footprint and rainfly, you create a massive, breezy shelter that cuts significant weight from your panniers.
